We believe that knowing your identity in Christ is foundational for being a strong and Godly leader. That is why within the School of Ministry Development (UofN CHR 241 / CHR 242) identity and passion are emphasized. During the school we will look more closely at your individual development as a leader with curriculum to challenge and grow you in your unique giftings. There will be more leadership responsibility and opportunities to put into practice what is being learnt and to begin to understand personal calling and passion based on identity in Christ. SOMD is a full time and full year round school that builds upon the BLP
Our desire is to develop leaders who lead out of identity, personal strengths and passion. SOMD will be a time for you to gain a deeper knowledge of biblical leadership, biblical truths and a greater dependancy on God. It will be a time to develop spiritual authority in the your life and to go deeper still in expressions of worship in every day life. It will be a time to grow stronger in mentoring and discipleship, to grow in spiritual gifts and to know how to apply them to ministry. Our hope is that through this school, you may begin to realize what your possible long-term calling may be.
Identity, vision and passion will be emphasized through weekly topics, discussions, one-on-ones, and practical serving. You will have opportunity to step out more specifically in what you believe may be your passion and leadership strengths. On the job training will provide you with the experience required to lead within any type of ministry.
School of Ministry Development (UofN CHR 241 / CHR 242)

Leadership schools come in different forms, designed to meet the needs of the students, equipping them for servant leadership while giving opportunity for personal growth and development. School of Ministry Development (SOMD) - During this school students discover and develop their gifts and talents in leadership roles. The course is especially designed for new staff at YWAM centers and is adapted to the context of the language and culture of the country in which it is taught. Some of the topics are: understanding the core values of YWAM, perspectives on missions, generational thinking, transforming cultures, personal fund-raising, worship and evangelism, personal ministry development, public speaking, spiritual authority, and conflict resolution. We run this course as a one year course as part 2 of our 3 year Leadership Training Program. Our course goes beyond the minimum time of a classic SOMD, this will make it a stronger course and will improve the qualities of our Ministries at YWAM Davos and the impact we have in our town and beyond. During the time the students will receive a minimum of 12 weeks of SOMD lecture and 12 weeks of SOMD Outreach. The Students will receive 24 Credits for this course.
